
Steve Zhang, President
Steve Zhang is a Senior at Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, Oregon. He is currently rated 3D by the AGA. Steve has been playing Go from a young age. He has participated in many tournaments around the world, including Europe and Asia. Steve placed 2nd in the 1 Dan division at the 2023 US Go Congress. He is also the current Oregon State Champion. Besides playing, Steve also enjoys volunteering in the Go community. Most notably, he served as the TD for the USGC Pair Go Tournament and US State Championship in 2024. Outside of Go, Steve enjoys going to the gym, listening to music, and playing Badminton.

Grace Chen, President
Grace Chen is a junior at Merivale High School in Ottawa, Ontario. She has been learning Go for seven years and is currently CGA 1D. She has volunteered in AGHS tournaments for several years. She won the junior division of the 2019 North American Kyu Championships and qualified for the 2020 IAPGC. Outside of Go, she enjoys baking, dancing, and listening to music.

Regina Kim, Vice President
Regina Kim is a junior at Leonia High School in New Jersey, and she has been learning Go for 6 years. She has participated in multiple U.S. Go Congress events, winning 1st place in both the Women’s Tournament and US Open in 2023 and 2nd place in US Open 2024 in her division. She actively contributes to the Go community by providing translations and volunteering at the Go Congress, teaching at her local library and at her high school, and encouraging other people to play Go. Outside of Go, she enjoys golfing, skiing, and traveling.

Tony Yang, Vice President
Tony Yang is a junior at Chaparral High School in Temecula, CA. He started Go in 2016 and is currently rated AGA 7D. Tony placed 1st in both the 2022 and 2023 U.S. Go Congress in the Open Section. At the 39th U.S. Go Congress, Yang placed 2nd in the Senior Division of the Redmond Cup. Additionally, Yang took 3rd place in the 38th World Youth Go Championship. Tony co-founded his high school’s Go Club and has taught Go at his local Chinese School and teaches at the San Diego Go Club every Tuesday. Besides Go, Tony is passionate about math and programming and enjoys playing tennis and piano.

Victoria Xie, Website Manager
Victoria Xie is a junior at The Pingry School in New Jersey. She has played Go for six years and is currently an AGA 1K player. She has participated in multiple Go Congresses and tournaments both online and around her area. Victoria leads her school’s Go Club and loves teaching people how to play Go. Outside of Go, she runs a tutoring organization and plays squash. Victoria also enjoys playing piano, listening to podcasts, and reading.

Xiayang Huang, Secretary
Xiayang Huang is a junior at Hunter College High School in New York City. He’s played Go on and off since he was a kid and is currently around 1K in strength. He’s excited to help spread Go across the US as a member of the AGHS. When he’s not playing Go or organizing his school’s Go club, Xiayang enjoys eating good food and traveling.

Stephanie Tan, Treasurer
Stephanie Tan is a sophomore at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana. She has played Go for ten years, attended eight Go Congress, and is currently an AGA 3D. Recently, she placed first in the main section of the 2024 Chicago Open and has been a finalist in the AGA Girls Cup for the past three years, winning twice. Alongside playing, Stephanie wants to contribute and stay active in the Go community. She teaches Go to young kids at her local Chinese school and is a part of the media team for tournaments in the Chicago area. Outside of Go, Stephanie enjoys playing Tetris, pickleball, French horn, and logic games like Sudoku.

Joanne Wang, Media Marketing Manager
Joanne Wang is a junior at Semiahmoo Secondary in Surrey, BC. She has played Go for 6 years, participating in many tournaments such as the 2024 Canadian Go Open, where she placed 3rd in the female category, and is currently ranked CGA 1D. Joanne is the founder of her school Go Club and also a community Go club, where she teaches lessons and hosts events. Besides Go, she enjoys reading novels, collecting trinkets, and listening to music.

Zixuan Gao, Tournament Director
Zixuan Gao is a sophomore at Tesla STEM High School in Redmond, Washington. She started learning Go in 2019 and is currently rated AGA 5D. In recent years, Zixuan placed 2nd in the open section of the 2023 WA State Championship and won 1st in the 2024 AGA Girls Cup. In addition, she also represented the US team in the 2023 Quzhou International Friendly Children Amateur Weiqi Invitational Tournament. Besides playing Go, Zixuan also enjoys playing the violin, piano, drawing, and programming.

Xinzhou Song, Tournament Director
A junior at Leigh High School, Xinzhou Song has loved the game of Go since he was little, currently AGA 4d / fox 6d. He enjoys Go for its strategic and logical thinking that also applies to other disciplines such as math and physics. Believing in the intellectual benefits of playing Go, he founded his high school’s Go club and wishes to spread the love of Go across the nation through organizing impactful events. Apart from Go, some of his hobbies are playing piano and saxophone, video editing, and feeding his guinea pig.
