Grace Chen, President

Grace Chen is a senior at Merivale High School in Ottawa, Ontario. She has been learning Go for eight years and is currently CGA 4D. Grace has participated in numerous tournaments both online and in person, and recently placed 2nd in the 2025 AGA Girls Cup. Having served on the AGHS for several years, she is excited to make this year the best yet. Outside of Go, Grace is passionate about exploring the intersection of the humanities and sciences, while also dedicating much of her time to community service. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and going on scenic walks.

Tony Yang, President

Tony Yang is a senior at Chaparral High School in Temecula, California. He began playing Go in 2016 and is currently rated AGA 7D. Some of his Go accolades include being the champion of both the 2022 and 2023 U.S. Go Congress Open Section, runner-up of the 2023 Redmond Cup, and placing third while representing the US at the 38th World Youth Go Championship. Besides competing, Tony co-founded his high school’s Go Club and has taught Go at his local Chinese school, as well as at the San Diego Go Club every Tuesday. Additionally, Tony has published his own book, “The Theory of Go,” and developed an app, ScribeGo, to provide more accessible resources for studying Go. Outside of Go, Tony is obsessed with competitive math/coding and scientific research, while enjoying basketball, tennis, piano, and working out.

Regina Kim, Vice President

Regina Kim is a senior at Leonia High School in Leonia, New Jersey and has been playing Go for seven years. She is the sole recipient of the 2024 AGF College Scholarship, awarded for making significant contributions as a Go organizer and promoter. In competition, she won 1st place in the 2025 North American Kyu Championship, 1st place in the 2023 Women’s Tournament, and 2nd place in her division at the 2024 U.S. Open. She has also volunteered with the AGA as a translator, translator coordinator, marketing assistant, and registration assistant. In addition, she has taught Go at her local library, her high school club, and to individuals with autism in Korea alongside her teacher. Besides Go, she enjoys golfing, skiing, and spending time in the city with her friends.

Stephanie Tan, Vice President

Stephanie Tan is a junior at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana. She has been playing Go for ten years and is an AGA 3D. Stephanie has attended eight U.S. Go Congresses and recently won first place in the main section of the 2024 Chicago Open. She is also a three-time finalist in the AGA Girls Cup, winning twice. In addition to playing, Stephanie teaches an AGF-approved Go program for young children at her local Chinese school, writes for the Evanston Go Club, and served as Publicity Lead for the 2025 U.S. Go Congress. Outside of Go, she enjoys listening to music, playing Tetris, and solving logic puzzles like Sudoku.

Felix Huang, Tournament Director

Felix Huang is a junior at Pierre Elliot Trudeau in Markham, Ontario. He has been learning Go for around 10 years and is currently ranked AGA 5d. He has participated in multiple North American Go tournament, winning 4th place in the U16 North American Championships, and achieving a 6-0 record in the 41st USGC. He actively participates in the go community by teaching online and volunteering at the Congress. Outside of Go, he enjoys swimming, basketball and listening to music.

Victoria Xie, Secretary & Head of Marketing

Victoria Xie is a senior at The Pingry School in New Jersey. She has played Go for six years and is currently an AGA 1K player. She has participated in multiple Go Congresses and tournaments both online and around her area. Outside of Go, Victoria enjoys reading (especially fantasy) and is a die-hard Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fan.

Siyu (Steven) Chen, Media Marketing Manager

Siyu Chen is a junior at Groton Dunstable Regional High School in Groton, Massachusetts. He has played Go for ten years and is currently an AGA 2D. In 2022, he placed first in the Toronto Go Spectacular Open Tournament and is currently competing in AGA City League, representing Team Boston. Outside of Go, he loves to travel, listen to music, swim, play basketball, and go rock climbing with his friends.

Tiffany Wang, Treasurer

Tiffany Wang is a junior at the Bronx High School of Science in New York City and has been playing Go for three years. She has participated in numerous online and local tournaments, as well as at Go Congresses, where she most notably placed 1st in her division at the 2024 US Open. Outside of Go, you can find Tiffany listening to music, skiing, playing tennis, or binge-watching Netflix.

Joanne Wang, Media Marketing Manager

Joanne Wang is a senior at Semiahmoo Secondary in Surrey, BC. She has played Go for 7 years, participating in many tournaments such as the 2024 Canadian Go Open, where she placed 3rd in the female category, and is currently ranked CGA 1D. Joanne is the founder of her school Go Club and also a community Go club, where she teaches lessons and hosts events. Besides Go, she enjoys reading novels, collecting trinkets, and listening to music.

Amari González, Tournament Director

Amari González is a senior at Saint Ann’s School in New York City. He has been playing Go since the age of 9 and is rated AGA 1D. In addition to playing competitively, Amari enjoys teaching Go and wants to help spread the game to future generations in the hope that one day every child in the country, upon seeing a Go board, would recognize the game. Amari also likes making films, stage acting, and designing crosswords. Luna (30k) is a five year old cat from New York.

Zixuan Gao, Tournament Director

Zixuan Gao is a junior at Tesla STEM High School in Redmond, Washington. She started learning Go in 2019 and is currently rated AGA 5D. In recent years, Zixuan placed 2nd in the open section of the 2023 WA State Championship and won 1st in both the 2024 and 2025 AGA Girls Cup. In addition, she also represented the US team as Board 1 in both the 2023 and 2024 Quzhou International Friendly Children Amateur Weiqi Invitational Tournament. Besides playing Go, Zixuan also enjoys playing the violin, piano, drawing, and programming.

Donelly Qin, Tournament Director

Tsz Lun (Donelly) Qin is a rising junior at Stuyvesant High School, NY. She has been playing Go since kindergarten, and has become 5d as early as 2019 when she was only a 4th grader. For years, she keeps up her love for Go and participates in all sorts of tournaments to meet new friends and improve her own tactics. Started as a player herself in various AGHS tournaments such as the Young Lions Go Tournament (3rd place), School Team Tournament (1st place), and Girls Who Play Go Tournament (1st place), she is excited to join AGHS as one of the Tournament Directors and try her best to provide Go players from all across America the best tournament experience. Outside of AGHS, she’s also responsible for running her school’s Go Club (as President) and has recently joined ACGA as the new Events Director. She looks forward to provide Go enthusiasts with more fun and engaging events! (Fun fact: In her own time, she’s also obsessed with ballet, biology, chemistry and solving sudokus:))

Sean Song, Tournament Director

A senior at Leigh High School, Xinzhou Song has loved the game of Go since he was little, currently AGA 4d / fox 6d. He enjoys Go for its strategic and logical thinking that also applies to other disciplines such as math and physics. Believing in the intellectual benefits of playing Go, he founded his high school’s Go club and wishes to spread the love of Go across the nation through organizing impactful events. Apart from Go, some of his hobbies are playing piano and saxophone, video editing, and feeding his guinea pig.

Ethan Whitman, Junior Board Member

Ethan Whitman is a freshman at Liberal Arts and Science Academy in Austin, Texas. He has played Go for 9 years and is currently rated AGA 5D. He achieved 2nd place in the Redmond Cup Junior Division in 2023. He has taught Go at his local Chinese school. Outside of Go, he is passionate about coding and even founded his school’s coding club. He also enjoys solving math competition problems, playing basketball, and trading stocks.

Angelina Zhao, Junior Board Member

Angelina Zhao, a freshman studying at University High School (Irvine, CA), has pursued the game of Go with passion since the age of 5. Currently ranked AGA 1 Kyu, her accomplishments include winning the 2021 U16 Girls King Cup California Go Championship, securing first place in the junior division of the 2020 North American Kyu Championships, and placing third in Division A of the 2023 AGHS Young Lions Tournament. Angelina is committed to sharing her love and passion for the game with other aspiring players. Beyond her immersive battles within the Go Board, Angelina also dedicates her time to enjoying Arts & Crafts, competing in writing, exploring the World, and uncovering History!

Fangwu Yu, Junior Board Member

Fangwu Yu is a sophomore at Princeton High School in New Jersey, and he has been playing Go from a young age. He has participated in multiple AGA and AGHS tournaments and events including multiple U.S. Go Congresses, winning 2nd place in the US Open 2025 in his division. He is an active member of the Go community, co-founding his high school’s Go club and teaching Go at his local Chinese school. Besides Go, Fangwu enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and playing video games with friends.

Alex Fan-Cui

Alex Fan-Cui is a sophomore at Highland Park High School. He is passionate about spreading Go, and has played in many AGHS tournaments over the years. He has been learning Go for 7 years, and is currently an AGA 3D. Outside of Go, he loves playing with his cats and medics.
